I am currently working on 2 sites, the first for Mayday Mortgages and Loans and the second for their sister company Harding Thomas Ltd.
Both these sites were designed by a third party with little thought of optimisation for search engines and less thought for accessibility issues. However, with a little work.... or several days per site, they can be improved.
Mayday Mortgages and Loans deal with mortgages and remortgages for people with adverse credit who have difficulty getting finance from the normal high street lenders. In the search market this is a very competitive area but we have done well to get them highly ranked on Google without resorting to Pay Per Click campaigns.
Harding Thomas are a commercial mortgage and finance company. They specialise with arranging finance for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and property investors no matter what their circumstances. This is a new project and the first round of basic tuning has been performed. This work is aimed at getting the site into the search engine indexes and crawled regularly.
My company, Longcrest Systems Ltd, takes on a few busineses each year and helps them improve their search engine placement. We work the old fashioned way by helping create a website that is search engine friendly by using good copy, correct meta-tagging, sitemaps and analysis of the competition so we can carefully tune the site for specific keyword searches.
